In the past, most people used desktop computers. But nowadays, many people use laptops that they can carry around. People don’t just work on their computers at home. That’s why the preference for laptops is on the rise. As more people use laptops, there are more Wi-Fi hotspots. Most public spaces and cafes have wireless Internet access. When there is no Wi-Fi signal, people can tether their phone to use the Internet.

예전에는 사람들이 데스크탑 컴퓨터를 많이 썼다, 그러나 이제는 휴대가 가능한 노트북을 쓰는 사람들이 많아졌다. 컴퓨터 작업을 집에서만 하는 것이 아니라서 노트북에 대한 선호가 증가하고 있다. 노트북 이용자들이 많아지다 보니, 주변에 와이파이를 쓸 수 있는 곳들도 많아지고 있다. 공공장소나 커피숍에서는 대부분 무선 인터넷이 가능하다. 와이파이가 잡히지 않을 경우, 핸드폰을 테더링해서 인터넷을 사용할 수도 있다.

I often carry around my laptop, since I can take it out anywhere and get some work done. I chose a small, thin laptop for good portability. It’s light as a feather, compared to my old laptop. I can put it in my bag and it won’t weigh me down. Plus, it doesn’t take up a lot of space. After five years, laptops start to break down more often. The level of customer support is an important factor when buying a product.

나는 노트북을 자주 들고 다닌다. 어디서든 꺼내서 작업을 할 수 있기 때문이다. 휴대성이 좋도록 크기도 작고 얇은 노트북 컴퓨터를 골랐다. 예전에 쓰던 노트북에 비해서 정말 가볍다. 가방에 넣고 다녀도 무겁지 않고 자리도 많이 차지하지 않는다. 노트북은 5년이 지나면 고장이 잦아진다. 제품을 구매할 때는 AS가 얼마나 잘되는지도 고려해야 할 주요 요소다.
