A while ago, I suddenly wanted to get a massage. I hadn’t made an appointment, so I called up the massage place. They didn’t have an opening. I had to book a slot the next day. I arrived on time, and received a massage. I also made an appointment at the hair salon recently. I wanted to get my hair done, but something came up. I had to change the date.

얼마 전에 갑자기 마사지를 받고 싶었다. 미리 예악을 하지 않아서 전화를 해 봤는데, 가능한 시간대가 없었다. 어쩔 수 없이 그 다음 날로 예약을 했다. 예약 시간에 맞춰 가서 마사지를 받았다. 최근에 미용실 예약을 하기도 했다. 머리를 하려고 했는데, 갑자기 일이 생겨서 날짜를 바꿔야 했다.

When I have to make an appointment, I first look up the phone number. If I don’t have it stored on my phone, I search online. It’s easy to find phone numbers these days because most stores have their information up online. Once I get the number, I call up and ask them when they are available. I tell them when I want to come in and fix the time. I usually get a text confirming my appointment. Wherever I go, making an appointment helps prevent a waste of time since I don’t have to wait around.

어딘가 예약을 해야 할 때, 가장 먼저 전화번호를 찾아본다. 휴대폰에 번호가 저장되어 있지 않으면 인터넷에 검색을 해 본다. 요즘은 대부분의 영업점들이 인터넷상에 업체 정보를 게시해 놓아서 전화번호를 찾기가 쉽다. 일단 번호를 찾으면, 전화를 해서 예약이 가능한 시간대를 물어본다. 그리고 내가 원하는 시간을 이야기하고 시간을 확정한다. 대부분의 경우 예약 확인 문자가 온다. 어디를 가든 예약을 하고 가면 기다리지 않아도 돼서 시간 낭비를 하지 않게 된다.
